Tomorrow night I am singing in a choral concert in a beautiful Italianate church in the leafy shires.
We are singing a varied programme that includes Monteverdi, Bach, Brahms, Bruckner, Verdi, Glinka and Rachmaninoff. All good stuff, and delightful to sing in the lovely surrounds of the church.
But I think I need a break from the grind of weekly evening rehearsals, so I shall be missing singing for around 4 months, as I think it is good not to get too focussed on something.
I shall be gargling my tonsils with Listerine for a while, and will get ready to rejoin in November. I hope I won't have to re-audition, though.

Maybe a gargle with a Giovanni Rosso Barolo would help to "ease the pain" and keep Italy in mind:)
