There are lots of lovely Seville oranges in the shops at the moment, as there usually are in January.Over the next few days I shall relax by making Marmalade.
Last year's batch was a little runny, so I am using a different recipe and am adding a little extra Pectin.
Home made marmalade?
Yum yum.

Why is homemade marmalade better? Surely the process could be reproduced in a factory?
It tastes better and it is creative.
In the same way as me singing in a choir is not as good as the BBC singers, but more enjoyable.
Marmalade? Yukkkk!!!
Chaqu'un a son gout!
Et t'a gout marche bien avec moi JD! It's been so gloomy lately, do I miss your cooking! I hope you'll be doing it online comme d'abitude too :-)
inspired...now off to buy oranges too...lovely post...thanks!
We still have all the summer's and autumn's brambles (and some elderberries and a few raspberries) stashed in the freezer. Could soon be time for some Aust family jam and chutney making. When we get a free weekend...
I get mine either from the ladies who make it in support of the Oxford Diocesan Bell Fund or the others that make it on behalf of our Parish Church. Far, far better than the supermarket stuff!
Now all I need to do is to find someone who makes Grapefruit marmalade which I really prefer!
Grapefruit marmalade is quite easy, and of course is not as seasonal.
JD.
Oxford Diocesan Bell Marmalade! I'd buy it just for the name..
My mother-in-law's homemade marmalade! Delicious! She's just given me 12 jars. I'm going to have a go myself next season :-)
The thing you're writing is a big blunder.
